What is the Student Visa?

The student visa is a temporary residence permit for foreigners who wish to study in Spain. This visa is required for courses lasting more than 90 days and covers a wide variety of educational programs, from language courses and exchange programs to university degrees, masters and doctorates.

Requirements for Obtaining a Student Visa

Requirements for applying for a student visa in Spain:
  • Acceptance Letter: You must submit an official acceptance letter from a recognized educational institution in Spain, confirming your admission to a full-time study program.
  • Proof of Financial Resources: You will need to prove that you have sufficient financial means to cover your living expenses, accommodation and studies during your entire stay in Spain. This may include bank statements, scholarships or financial aid.
  • Medical Insurance: You must have private medical insurance that covers all risks during your stay in Spain. The insurance must be valid throughout the Spanish territory.
  • Criminal Record Certificate: It is necessary to present a criminal record certificate issued by the authorities of your country of origin or the country in which you have resided in the last five years.
  • Medical Certificate: You must provide a medical certificate certifying that you do not suffer from any disease that may have public health repercussions in accordance with the International Health Regulations.
