Do you want to live in Spain as a foreigner?

It may seem like a complicated and tedious task, but at Get Your Spanish Visa we make sure to make the process as simple as possible. The first thing we need to know is what type of visa we need, what citizenship options exist and, of course, how to get it. To apply for a visa in Spain, you can apply at the Spanish Consulate that is under its jurisdiction. To apply for your visa from your country of origin, you will have to do so from the consulate. The visa will be pasted into your passport and must be sent to the Schengen border authorities at the port of entry. Currently, it is not possible to obtain the visa electronically/online.

What types of visas are there in Spain?

      Short-stay visa or Schengen visa

The Schengen Agreement allows for a unique form of short-stay visa (up to 90 days) for participating European countries:

Schengen visa issued by the Embassy or Consulate

The Schengen visa issued by the Embassy or Consulate of the above-mentioned countries allows the holder to travel freely in all of them. If you wish to visit only one country in the Schengen area, you must apply for it at the Consulate of that country. In the event that you are going to visit several Schengen countries, you must apply for it at the consulate of your main destination (the one where you will spend most of your days).

In Spain the Schengen visa fee is as follows:

      – Adults: fee of 80 euros.

      – Children under 12 years old: fee of 40 euros.

      – Children under 6 years old are excluded from the visa fee.

Long-term visas in Spain will allow you to stay in Spain for more than 90 days. Once accepted and released, you can receive a resident card once in Spain to cover your stay there. All people in the world who need to work, study for more than 90 days or wish to travel to Spain may need a long-stay Spanish visa.
There are some exceptions that are excluded from this requirement:

      • Member States of the European Union.
      • Netherlands.
      • Norway.
      • Iceland.
      • Liechtenstein.
      • Switzerland.

Where can you pay for the visa?

In some countries, you will have to pay a fee at the Consulate or Visa Application Center, wherever you send your application. They will only accept a money order or cashier’s check. Personal checks, credit cards, and debit cards will not be accepted.
As a general rule, you will have to pay the fee on the day of your visa appointment. However, in a few other countries such as Morocco, you will have to pay the fee on the day you make your visa reservation, or your reservation will be cancelled.

When do you pay the visa?
